This proposal concerns an information and promotion programme for processed potatoes in Japan, Malaysia and Thailand. As the third largest grower of potatoes worldwide, potatoes are a key agricultural product in the European Union.
These three countries in Asia were not chosen by chance. We have noticed a strong increase in the demand for prepared food products and each country values high quality, premium taste and sustainability. However, in recent years, European processed potatoes face increasing competition from countries like China and India. We consider this programme as an opportunity for European processed potatoes to defend our market share on the Japanese, Malaysian and Thai markets.
On these markets we will communicate towards a B2B target group of importers, distributors and wholesalers. This target group can get in contact with the messages of the campaign via press releases, PR-events, print and online (LinkedIn and SEA) advertising and participation at trade fairs. In all communications, we will focus on the high quality, premium taste and sustainability of processed potatoes, all characteristics inherently linked to EU.
The programme has both an economic and informative objective. Through a communication campaign among the B2B target group, we are convinced we can increase our market share in the three target countries. At the same time, we also want to increase awareness of the European message of quality, taste and sustainability among the target group.
