European Gourmet Voyage celebrates culinary heritage in Shanghai

On 21 April, the European Gourmet Voyage welcomed 114 guests for a culinary cruise across Shanghai’s iconic Huangpu River. Part of the “Irresistible Europe, Countless Combinations” campaign, this evening brought together EU officials, Chinese stakeholders, opinion leaders, influencers and industry-related media to celebrate European food, drink, and hospitality. 
 

A Culinary Experience to Remember 

Guests enjoyed a five-course dinner featuring 28 European products from 16 EU Member States. The menu showcased organic specialties and Geographical Indications (GI) certified gems such as Spanish Estepa PDO olive oil, French Volaille de Bresse PDO, Swedish caviar, Cypriot Halloumi PDO cheeses, Italian Pasta di Gragnano PGI, Dutch Noord-Hollandse Gouda PDO cheese and more!  

The evening continued with signature cocktails crafted from GI spirits, rounding out a true taste of Europe.
  

Meaningful Engagement and Discovery 

The evening opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Wojciech Ptak, Agricultural Counsellor at the EU Delegation to China, and Mr. Dario Mihelin, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the People’s Republic of China. Chef Johnny and sommelier Daniela Fu further engaged the audience, sharing the traditions and stories behind each dish. 

Beyond the plate, guests explored the EU product display and the interactive Serious Game. The terrace deck, offering stunning views of the Shanghai skyline, provided the perfect setting for networking over cocktails and lively music.
