Tasting Seminar in Chongqing

After a brief introduction to GIs in Europe, EU products in the target categories were explained in detail to attending professionals, with a focus on characteristics of the place of origin/production process, organoleptic characteristics of each product tasted, and the best food/drink pairing options. 

Chef Zhang Zhenyu and sommelier Henry Wu provided a master class about EU food (meat, cheese, olive oil) and wines to pair with. 

  • 16.00 – 16.30: Introduction to the campaign, the speakers, agenda and brief overview of GIs in Europe.
  • 16.30 – 17.45: Three sessions of food tasting (one type of meat, one type of cheese and one type of olive oil)​.
  • 17.45 – 17.55: Blind contest in which a selection of attendees tasted all options again without knowing which product they were tasting.
