Organic Sea Buckthorn products from the European Union successfully entered high-potential international markets — Switzerland, South Korea, and Singapore — through the 2022–2024 campaign. In these countries, consumers are increasingly interested in products that support health, immunity, and balanced nutrition, backed by sustainable agricultural practices. The first phase of the project significantly improved awareness of the nutritional benefits, uniqueness, and added value of EU-certified organic Sea Buckthorn.
However, Sea Buckthorn remains a niche product, still not fully integrated into the dietary habits of target market consumers, mainly due to limited familiarity and commercial presence. The continuation of the campaign is therefore justified by the need to consolidate the awareness already achieved, deepen public education on the benefits of regular consumption of certified organic products, and expand product visibility across relevant retail and HoReCa channels.
The new project represents a natural evolution of the strategy already in place, incorporating lessons learned and adjusting the approach to current market dynamics. We will continue to focus on reinforcing recognition of EU quality schemes through a coherent mix of digital and traditional communication activities, positioning organic Sea Buckthorn as a functional, sustainable product with traceable European origin. The message will be directed toward consumer segments that value quality, transparency, and healthy living — particularly mature consumers who care about lifestyle and product provenance.
This effort directly supports the objectives of Regulation (EU) No 1144/2014, promoting the competitiveness and consumption of EU agri-food products. The campaign will strengthen recognition of EU certifications and position organic Sea Buckthorn as a conscious, valuable choice for third-country consumers, contributing to sustainable sector development and lasting commercial impact.
