The project strategy aims to maintain commonly created values in agri-food sector, enhance the competitiveness of the EU agri-food sector to increase exports and retain the market share of the EU food and beverage products in the United Kingdom (UK) which after Brexit became a 'third country' from the EU perspective.
The target groups of the programme include final consumers and food trade professionals. The project strives to enhance consumer awareness of the EU organic production methods, European protected designations and main characteristics of the EU organic production, in terms of their quality, variety, authenticity and traditions. This will be achieved through implementing the wide range of measures: from press, mass media and online channels, activities directly addressed to consumers (tastings, shelf talkers, displays), to B2B actions (trade fairs, presentations, events for professionals, B2B trade visits).
The objectives are to increase:
1. annual export value of Programme’s product basket from LITHUANIA to UK from EUR 106.2 million (baseline scenario) to EUR 112.2 million;
2. annual export value of wines from Bulgaria to UK from EUR 1,5 million (baseline scenario) to EUR 2.5 million;
3. the share of consumers correctly identifying the EU organic logo from 43.3% to 46.3%;
4. the share of consumers stating that they’ve heard about Bulgarian wine from Thracian Lowlands region from 24.7% to 36.7%.
5. the average rating given by consumers to the EU agri-food product quality from 7.58 to 7.88 points.
This will lead to expected ultimate impact of the projects – to an increase of exports, enabling the EU producers to retain their market share in UK.
