The project aims to encourage consumers to consider our future when choosing food – planet well-being, people health, European food history and traditions. It seeks to enhance the competitiveness and to improve trust in quality of the EU agri-food sector in the internal market through increasing awareness on sustainability of EU food production, the EU organic production methods and the EU quality schemes. The Programme is proposed by 2 legal entities – The Baltic Gastronomy Leaders and The Bulgarian Winemaking & Export Association, which are going to implement a 3-year information programme for a basket of the EU produced food and beverage products in the internal markets of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.
The project strives to boost consumption of the EU agri-food production among the selected internal market consumers by promoting the EU products in terms of:
- balanced nutrition and quality (EU food products comply with strict standards and controls, and are traceable from farm to fork; balanced plant based nutrition and physical activity as essential for health promotion and disease prevention);
- authenticity (EU food products are authentic and benefit from protected designations of origin or geographical indications);
- sustainability (EU complies with more sustainable production practices with special emphasis on organic production).
To achieve the objectives, Programme employs a wide range of activities: from mass media and online channels (press, website, online ads), activities directly addressed to consumers (tastings, displays, trade fairs), to B2B actions (presentations, events for professionals, B2B trade visits).
