The AGRUPACIÓN DE COOPERATIVAS VALLE DEL JERTE is a fruit & vegetables producer organization, reconigzed by the Ministry of agriculture, fisheries and food of Spain, which represent 16 cooperatives located in the region Valle del Jerte (Spain).
Plum, Chestnuts, Figs and other small fruits such as blackberries are some of the products we produce but the most outstanding product is the Cherry, which is mainly exported to European countries.
These products have been highly affected by the current COVID19 crisis, in fact, the sales of Cherries and Picota cherries in Spain and the UK (the 2 main markets for this organization) has decreased by 49% in 2020 (11.071 tn in 2019; 5450 tn in 2020). These bad results are confirmed since the campaign of cherries ended last June.
Therefore, the main purpose of applying for this grant is to restore the normal market conditions for cherries which has been highly affected by COVID19 crisis, that is, at least return in 2021 to the numbers achieved in 2019. To Achieve this, a mix of promotional and informational activities has been designed through a strategy adapted to each target country, that is, Spain and United Kingdom.
