The proposed Action, Information provision and promotion measures on the sustainable aspects of European cotton, in Denmark, Finland and Sweden , is submitted by the Inter-Branch Organization of Greek Cotton (DOV), that was established in 2016 with the main aim of developing cotton cultivation, by producing cotton adapted to market needs, through the modernization of cultivation methods and the development of marketing strategies through quality certification systems, as cotton is one of our country's main export products.
The project's primary objective, is to raise awareness among European consumers in Finland, Denmark and Sweden about the benefits of sustainable agriculture practices that are good for the climate, environment, the economy and the society. Ultimately, this Project aims to increase the competitiveness of sustainably produced European cotton and enhancing its market share and profile.
Through a series of tasks, the campaign aims to achieve the following results:
• 30% of consumers reached by the Action to acquire new knowledge on the sustainable aspect of cotton production practices and standards (including the use of non-GMO crops and commitment to social and environmental responsibility). This means that 300.000 consumers in Finland, 300.000 in Denmark and 300.000 in Sweden will acquire new knowledge.
