Lithuanian poultry association has developed a proposal for information and promotion measures for EU-produced antibiotics-free poultry and production.Key campaign messages include:
• Poultry consumption has a much smaller negative impact on climate change compared to red meat, as cattle farming contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions.
• Short supply chains from the field to the table not only ensure the freshness of produce but also reduce the negative impact of the food industry on the environment.
• Consuming quality chicken is beneficial for health and should be an integral part of a healthy diet among the population of various age groups. Chicken is an excellent source of protein low in saturated fat, which is recommended as a replacement for red meat and its products (World Health Organization, CINDI Dietary Guidelines).
• An informed and conscious consumer: I know what produce I'm choosing - I understand what a product label, such as "raised without antibiotics," means and why it's important.
• Ensuring the well-being of animals - why should the buyer care about this, and why is it worth choosing the products of socially responsible farmers?
• Consumption of products from responsible EU chicken farmers contributes to the implementation of strategic initiatives of the European Union - the European Green Deal and the strategy From Farm to Fork.
As a result of the implementation of the Program, it is planned to raise consumers awareness of all food quality and safety.
Activities planned are aimed at consumers aged 4-65 years old. The main target group indicates general public/consumers.
