The action brings together two unique products from the EU: Krokos Kozanis PDO and Magiun de Prune Topoloveni. In the past, during the implementation of the multi programme “Eureka!”, the partners worked together for the promotion of PDO/PGI products in third markets and are using again together their expertise in order to familiarize trade channels and consumers in Vietnam and United Arab Emirates. The main objective is to raise the awareness and recognition of EU quality schemes especially the PDO and PGI logos in terms of authenticity, nutritional and health value. Moreover, the aim is to build and increase the quality element of the products identified in their origin as European. The region of origin information constitutes a product traceability that is external to the product itself. It serves as an assurance for product quality, performance, reliability, prestige and other product characteristics that cannot be directly evaluated. Other objectives concern the increase in awareness of wider food issues for healthy living and lifestyle gastronomy, the development of appreciation and passion for quality food, drinks, and ingredients that contribute to the enjoyment of a richer and better life. Nonetheleast, the scope is to raise awareness of the sustainable asset and contribute positively to the perceived value of European PDO and PGI products. The action targets households/ consumers, distributors networks and trade and opinion leaders, with a plan that includes PR activities, website and social media, advertising (print and online), communication tools (publications), events (trade fairs, workshops, restaurant weeks, study trips) and POS Promotion.
