EU Food Takes Centre Stage on MasterChef India

European food products took the spotlight on one of India’s most popular culinary shows as the European Union partnered with MasterChef India for a special challenge during the programme’s finale week, reaching an audience of more than 20 million viewers.

Through this collaboration, the European Union introduced viewers to the quality, authenticity, sustainability and safety of European food and drink products. As part of the finale week, contestants participated in the European Union Mystery Box Challenge, where they were invited to create innovative dishes inspired by Indian cuisine using European ingredients.

The challenge featured a selection of over 10 European ingredients, many of them featuring Geographical Indications (GIs) from across the European Union, highlighting foods and beverages whose quality and reputation are closely linked to their region of origin. Contestants were encouraged to explore the unique characteristics of these ingredients while crafting dishes that celebrate creativity and flavour.

EU Food Ambassadors Chef Ajay Chopra and Chef Guntas Sethi highlighted how this collaboration provides an opportunity to engage India’s vibrant community of food enthusiasts while showcasing the diversity and excellence of European products. By appearing on MasterChef India, the European Union continues to strengthen cultural and culinary connections with India, inspiring consumers to discover how authentic European ingredients can enrich everyday cooking and gastronomic experiences.
