"Time for sustainable fruit production" is a 3-year information and education campaign targeted at intra-EU markets: Poland, Germany and Austria. The project is implemented under the AGRIP-SIMPLE-2021-IM-SUSTAINABLE Priority and will focus on emphasizing the environmental sustainability of the European Union agriculture on the example of the fruit sector, in particular the methodology of the Integrated Fruit Production (apples and berries). The Integrated Production in the fruit-growing sector is an important basis (introduction) to eco production. For this reason, the project will directly contribute to: biodiversity conservation and sustainable use of natural resources (e.g. by reducing the use of pesticides); sustainable water management (e.g. by saving water, reducing the content of nutrients and pesticides); (iii) sustainable use of soil (e.g. through balanced nutrient content, prevention of acidification and salinisation, reduction of pesticide content); preserving orchards as an element contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide and sustainable consumption through the promotion of fruit (apples and berries).
Over the last two years, the Polish Fruit Growers Association has not submitted similar applications.
