With high levels of production and consumption, France and Germany are, historically, countries of cheese. However, 2020 has been a challenging year for the dairy industry and uncertainties remain for the future outlook due to the current environment. In this market situation, weakened by the COVID-19 crisis, where international trade has been disrupted, it seems legitimate to support exports and consumption of European products within the Union’s own countries.

In this very unstable context, it is essential to re-energise the European market. Thus, the Action aims to promote cheese on two major European markets: France and Germany.

Targeting mainly consumers, foodies, influencers, food retailers and cheesemongers, this action aims to inform on the essentiality and accessibility of European cheeses by educating people how to consume and/or use cheese in their daily life.

The main BtoB and BtoC activities foreseen by this 3-year action include: influence strategy, partnerships with KOL, communication tools, food and consumer events, retailers and cheesemongers training courses.

The final expected result is to increase purchases of European cheeses in France with an average annual growth rate of +0.78%; and in Germany with an average annual growth rate of +0.34%
