The project "EU Drops & Bites", submitted exclusively by KIATO UNION IKE under the AGRIP-SIMPLE2025-IM-SUSTAINABLE call, is a dynamic initiative that aims to promote two of the most iconic and essential Mediterranean products—olive oil (CN code: 1509) and dried grapes (CN code: 0806 20)—in the Swedish and Finnish markets. This project is designed to enhance the global competitiveness of EU agricultural products while emphasizing the sustainability of Union agriculture. The key focus is to highlight the traditional agricultural practices in Greece, which are not only rich in cultural heritage but also align with contemporary sustainability standards. The initiative aims to position these products as premium items, crafted through methods that prioritize climate resilience, environmental preservation, and animal welfare. The project strongly supports the European Green Deal and the Farm to Fork strategy, both of which aim to create a sustainable and fair food system in the EU. By showcasing how Greek agricultural practices are integral to these overarching EU goals, the project underscores the commitment of Greek producers to sustainable agriculture that prioritizes the environment while maintaining high-quality production standards. Moreover, the project aims to create greater awareness and appreciation for the authenticity and quality of Mediterranean agricultural products in Sweden and Finland, tapping into these countries’ growing interest in sustainable and organic food. Through a series of well-structured activities such as marketing campaigns, product tastings, trade fair participation, and consumer engagement events, the project will build a strong narrative around the sustainability and traceability of these Mediterranean products.
