EU Food Market & Networking 2025 

Celebrating Europe’s Flavours and Agri-Food Excellence in Korea 

The “Colours by Europe. Tastes of Excellence” campaign proudly hosted the EU Food Market & Networking event on 25 November 2025, bringing together Korean importers, culinary professionals, media, and industry partners to explore the wide diversity and exceptional quality of European agri-food products. Held at the Floating Island Convention Centre in Seoul, the event highlighted the strength of EU-Korea cooperation in the agri-food sector and showcased the richness of Europe’s culinary heritage. 

Strengthening EU–Korea Agri-Food Relations 

The event opened with welcoming remarks by H.E. Mr Ugo Astuto, EU Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, followed by a presentation from Ms Mi-Gyoung Kim, Trade Officer at the EU Delegation. They outlined how the EU’s unified agri-food framework, built on harmonised standards, sustainability, and strong consumer protection, drives the global reputation of European food and drink. 

Expert Insights: Flavours, Opportunities, and Trends 

A panel discussion, EU Flavours in the Korean Market – Merits and Opportunities, brought together leading voices from Korea’s culinary and beverage sectors, with presentations by celebrity Chef Joon woo Park and acclaimed sommelier and importer Mr. Seunghoon Lee. 

They explored the growing appeal of EU products among Korean consumers, emerging trends in wine and specialty foods, and the role of EU labels such as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), and the Organic label, in boosting trust and transparency. 

EU Food Market: Discovering Europe’s Culinary Diversity 

Guests were invited to experience a rich selection of 162 products from more than 15 different MS. Visitors had the opportunity to taste and discover the stories behind European food products, ranging from fine wines and cheeses to cured meats, oils, organic items, bakery products, and regional specialities. 

Networking Reception: A Culinary Immersion 

The evening continued with a curated buffet that showcased 54 products from 23 EU Member States. Five live cooking stations allowed guests to see EU products in action - demonstrating versatility, technique, and the creativity they inspire in Korean kitchens.

The event highlighted the values at the core of the EU’s agri-food system: 

  • Uncompromising food safety through traceability along the entire chain;  

  • High production standards supported by strict regulations and innovation; 

  • Authenticity and culture preserved through GI labels; 

  • Sustainable farming practices that protect the environment. 

These elements ensure that EU food and drink combine quality, heritage, and responsibility, thereby meeting the expectations of Korean consumers seeking trusted, high-value products.
