The EU Food Fair Live!, held at Shibuya Cast, Tokyo, from 6-9 June 2024, was a resounding success, delighting food enthusiasts. This four-day event, themed "The Perfect Match of European and Japanese Food," drew hundreds of attendees eager to experience a unique fusion of flavors from the 27 EU Member States and Japan.
The fair featured an EU food truck offering free tastings in addition to nine sponsored food trucks serving special menus daily, creating a buzz during lunchtime as professionals and food lovers lined up to try the delectable offerings. Cooking workshops led by renowned chefs from Kurashiru, Japan's leading recipe video service, were a major highlight, providing participants with the opportunity to learn about the origins and pairing possibilities of selected EU ingredients.
Great food, lively atmosphere
Over the course of the event, approximately 4 000 food samples and nearly 1 300 goodies were distributed. Popular dishes included strawberry mochi, Japanese rolled omelet with blue cheese, hotdogs with Shibazuke, and Neapolitan udon noodles among others. The lively atmosphere was enhanced by live music from local DJs, creating a festive mood as attendees danced and enjoyed the food.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees praising the quality and variety of the food, the engaging workshops, and the overall festive atmosphere. Visitors particularly highlighted the excellent pairing of ingredients and the fun, educational experience provided by the event.
