On 8–9 November 2025, the Perfect Match campaign brought a taste of Europe to Tokyo’s Aoyama Farmer’s Market @ UNU, welcoming food lovers, families, and professionals to explore the culinary heritage of all 27 EU Member States. Over two days, visitors discovered innovative pairings of high-quality European ingredients with Japanese flavors, sampled creations from Star Chef Maki Watanabe, and enjoyed a range of interactive activities and educational displays.
At the heart of the fair was the EU Food Truck, featuring specially designed menus that highlighted the versatility, authenticity, and quality of EU ingredients. Visitors were invited to taste and enjoy these unique combinations, from hot dogs with Austrian sausage, shiso, and yuzu pepper, to duck honey sauté with white miso sauce, gorgonzola with dried persimmon, and taro with truffle cheese dressing. Both first-time attendees and returning fans expressed excitement, with many commenting on how approachable and inspiring the dishes were for home cooking.
Over the weekend, visitors enjoyed generous tastings, informational materials, and fun giveaways, reflecting high engagement and enthusiasm. Chef Maki Watanabe also joined attendees on-site, sharing tips and inspiring creative ways to use European ingredients in Japanese kitchens.
With its relaxed, community-oriented setting, the EU Food Fair at Aoyama Farmer’s Market offered Tokyo audiences a memorable weekend of taste, learning, and inspiration—demonstrating once again how EU ingredients are a Perfect Match for Japanese kitchens.
