Europe’s finest spirits take centre stage this November as the ‘More Than Only Food & Drink’ campaign joins forces with The Spirits Business to host an exclusive Spirits Masterclass on 18 November 2025 at Riddle’s Court, a historic venue on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.
This intimate event will bring together over 20 UK-based spirits professionals for an immersive tasting experience designed to showcase the excellence and diversity of EU spirits. Led by the campaign’s spirits ambassador Kristiane Westray, the session - titled “EU Spirits Unveiled: A Festive Journey Through Taste and Tradition” - will highlight the craftsmanship, authenticity, and heritage behind some of Europe’s finest spirits.
Participants will be guided through a curated selection of seven distinct EU spirits, each paired with complementary EU food products to accentuate their flavour profiles. The masterclass will explore the unique character of each spirit - its nose, palate, and finish - while revealing the importance of EU quality labels such as Geographical Indications (GIs) in guaranteeing quality, safety, sustainability, and authenticity.
As the festive season approaches, the masterclass will also include a creative Highball activity, where participants can experiment with cocktail-making and discover easy yet elegant ways to incorporate EU spirits into Christmas and winter celebrations.
Following the tasting and cocktail session, guests will enjoy a relaxed networking moment over a signature cocktail prepared with products featured in the masterclass, an opportunity to exchange ideas and celebrate Europe’s vibrant drinks culture.
