The Caterer Cheese Workshop

We are delighted to announce that the ‘More Than Only Food & Drink’ campaign will be partnering with The Caterer for a special Cheese Workshop to be held from 16:00 to 18:00 on 20 October 2025 in Manchester, UK. 

This exclusive event, A Cut Above: Making the Most of EU Cheeses in the Kitchen, will bring together more than 20 professionals from the hospitality sector for an interactive, hands-on session dedicated to exploring Europe’s exceptional cheeses. 

Hosted at Stow, a contemporary open-fire restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of Manchester’s Deansgate, the workshop will be chaired by The Caterer’s Deputy Editor Caroline Baldwin and led by renowned cheese expert Patrick McGuigan, one of Britain’s leading cheese writers and educators and advisor to the EU campaign. 

Participants will discover the unique characteristics, flavours, and traditions that make EU cheeses stand out. Through tastings, quizzes, and creative pairings, the workshop will cover cheeseboard and cooking trends, drinks pairings, and the latest innovations in restaurant practice. Attendees will also gain insights into the EU labels – Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) and the Organic Label - which safeguard authenticity, safety, quality, and sustainability in Europe’s agri-food production. 

The session will conclude with an informal networking reception featuring canapés crafted by Stow’s chef using EU cheeses presented during the workshop, complemented by EU wines presented at the London Wine Fair 2025.
